Church
of the Three Crosses offers a variety of programs and opportunities for mission. A variety of offerings is designed to cover a broad range of interests and provide a diversity of opportunities for folks to explore and express their faith.
Worship at 11:00 am each Sunday morning. Communion is celebrated the first Sunday of each month.
Adult Forum meets each Sunday morning at 10:00 am (September through May) and provides adults with opportunities to study and learn together.
Womens Prayer Group meets the first and third Wednesdays at 9:00 am at Nookies Restaurant (1746 N. Wells) for breakfast, conversation, prayer and reflection.
Yoga meets each Monday at 7:00 pm at the church. This meeting is open to the neighborhood. It is facilitated by a yoga instructor, costing each participant $15 for the evening. This is a non-religious event.
Sunday School for children and youth meets the first, second and fourth Sunday morning at 10:00 am (September through May). The Sunday School is designed to provide positive educational opportunities for the children and youth to learn about our faith traditions.
Youth Group events youth meet after worship the third Sunday of each month. These events provide opportunities for our youth to experience fellowship and take in some of the sights and activities of Chicago. Photo above shows the Rev. Evenings in the Park - provides opportunities for fellowship and musical enrichment. Usually scheduled on the fourth Saturday evening of June, July and August. Church members and neighbors are invited to bring a picnic dinner and enjoy a musical concert in the amphitheater adjacent to the church building. This is a non-religious event.
Deborahs Place each last Tuesday of the month (September through June) the church provides a meal to the residents of Deborahs Place, about four blocks from the church building. Deborahs Place is a supportive housing facility that provides a home to women who have been homeless.
Art Fair Fundraiser each second weekend in June the congregation, in conjunction with the Old Town Art Fair, has its annual fundraiser, providing great grilled sandwiches, frosty cold beverages and a shady place to sit to Art Fair patrons through our "Grill on the Green."
Book Group a meeting of those who would like to read and discuss a variety of books, including fiction and theology. This group meets approximately every six weeks. Schedules and books being read are published in the bulletin and newsletter.
Evenings at the Church opportunities for fellowship and study are provided on an ad hoc schedule, working to provide community enhancement and educational enrichment.
Our Building as Mission Space throughout the week our building, with its flexible and multi-use space, is rented by a variety of neighborhood groups including AA, NA, theater groups, toddler programs and Kindermusik. Occasionally, youth groups from other churches which are visiting Chicago stay overnight.
